Dallas, November 16, 2011 – Eartha Wang, licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and co-founder of Oyezz Real Estate, has formalized her short sale expertise by obtaining the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) certification from the Distressed Property Institute as well as the Sale and Foreclosure Resources (SFR) certification from the National Association of Realtors.
Oyezz has been handling short sales in North Texas since 2006. Individually, Wang closed more short sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth market during all of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011 than anyone else in the region, according to sales figures from the North Texas Real Estate Information System (NTREIS), the Multiple Listing Service for North Texas.
The number of short sales is increasing as lenders begin to proactively encourage them for homeowners rather than pursue foreclosures. Short sales allow homeowners to sell the property for a price below the amount of the loan. The lender agrees to accept the sale proceeds as payment in full, and the homeowner walks away from the home free of debt and free of the “stain” of a foreclosure on their credit report.
“The CDPE and SFR certifications are merely a formal recognition of our expertise and knowledge in short sales,” said Wang. “Anyone who has worked with us, from homeowners to lenders to real estate agents, already knows how and why we have been so successful.”
Wang added, “Short sales are extremely complicated and require very specific negotiating skills, price-setting expertise, and knowledge of how lenders handle these kinds of sales. Homeowners need to select short sale agents based on their experience and success rate.”
Oyezz Real Estate has a dedicated short sale team, professional trained negotiators, and extensive training in short sales and lender negotiations. Oyezz helps educate homeowners about short sales and other alternatives to foreclosure through speaking engagements, community events, and through its blog at www.oyezz.com/news.
